E-Z-GO RECEIVES UPRGADED ISO SERTIFICATION E-Z-GO Textron has transitioned its Quality Management System to the new International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001:2000 version. ISO certification is a model for quality assurance in design, development, production, installation and servicing. In 1998, E-Z-GO became the first golf car and utility vehicle company to receive ISO 9001 registration. Additionally, E-Z-GO has demonstrated environmental excellence by receiving ISO 14001 certification for it’s Environmental Management System in 2002. Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI) of Jamestown, New York, the ISO registrar, conducted a final audit of E-Z-GO’s Augusta, Georgia, plant in early October, subjecting the company’s operations to a rigorous inspection. E-Z-GO had to show excellence in operations ranging from design control to inspection and testing. ISO-certified companies typically enjoy more efficient operations and reduced production costs, as well as greater employee quality awareness. More and more companies, especially within the European Economic Community, require vendors to live up to ISO 9000 series standards. “Achieving ISO registration reflects our commitment to be the world’s premier golf car and utility vehicle manufacturer,” said E-Z-GO President John Garrison. “It also demonstrates our dedication to holding ourselves to the highest quality standards so that we deliver the best products to our customers.” |
