Philadelphia Scientific, a worldwide leader in advanced technology solutions for industrial battery users, has named Club Car its preferred distributor for battery accessories and tools to the golf market.

Club Car is distributing several products manufactured by Montgomeryville, Penn.-based Philadelphia Scientific to help golf courses increase battery life and reduce battery maintenance. The products are sold through Club Car dealers, distributors and branch offices.

“Avoiding impurities in the water that goes into the golf car’s batteries is the best way to protect the investment golf courses have in their cars,” said Kurt Meyer, a Club Car market analyst for aftermarket products. “These products provide an easy and cost-effective way to maintain batteries and increase the life of your golf cars.”

Philadelphia Scientific’s PS-300 deionizer system removes dissolved impurities such as calcium and manganese compounds, platinum, nickel, copper, iron and chloride salts through an electrostatic process that purifies tap water. The system eliminates the need for courses to purchase their own distillation unit or expensive distilled water.

Two other products – watering carts and watering guns – speed up the process of watering golf car batteries while improving operator safety.

The electric-powered watering cart, which weighs only 32 pounds, is easy to transport and features a submersible pump that delivers the correct water pressure and volume.

The watering gun connects to a standard hose or the deionizer unit and automatically shuts off at the right water level. When the gun is operated, the pump turns on automatically; when the gun shuts off, the pump shuts off, reducing energy consumption.
